Cheras, Malaysia, 29 September 2020 – Property Developer, NCT Group of Companies (NCT Group) and UCSI University has signed a Premier Co-Op Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to endorse student’s development through a series of initiatives. The MoU signing took place at UCSI University with NCT Group represented by Dato’ Joe Yap Fook Choy, the Co-Founder of NCT Group of Companies and UCSI represented by Associate Professor Ir. Dr Jimmy Mok Vee Hoong, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs of UCSI University and the Acting Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts. The ceremony was also witnessed by Yap Chun Theng, the Group Chief Operating Officer of NCT Group of Companies.
The MoU signing between two parties is deemed as a mutually beneficial partnership as both parties take strides to provide educational opportunities and industry experiences to the next generation while fostering a competent workforce for the industry. A real-life industry experience learning platform is pivotal for students to form their cornerstone to future success.
On the heels of the realization of the need, NCT Group introduces FLY Youth, a new student campaign, intending to advocate students’ self-development. FLY Youth is a befitting initiative to develop fierce young leaders through various forms of campaigns and competition. In tandem with the effort, students from UCSI University can be exposed to real-life industry experiences in which they can develop more hands-on skills thereafter. Giving a foretaste to the initiative, Dato’ Joe Yap Fook Choy commented, “This initiative will serve as an opportunity for NCT Group to be more hands on in the mentoring of young graduates, on top of the usual internship program, the FLY Youth initiative will give students a better understanding on real-life industry experience and expectations.”
To share in the joy, UCSI University’s Industry Leadership Programme is an icing on the cake that will help students obtain early employment from first year of Bachelors programme, receive training and learning experience with top industry players and score an opportunity to secure employment before graduation. It allows students to become more competent and knowledgeable that will definitely come useful in the coming years, especially in the challenging times at present.
