A Different Kind of Eid
June 20th, 2021

This year, Hari Raya will look a lot more different than the traditional ways it’s been celebrated throughout the years. The new norm of travelling restrictions and strict SOPs - no thanks to Covid-19, means that the usual big family gatherings and visiting traditions are out the window. That does not mean that you can’t still celebrate joyfully. We’re here to share how you can have an Eid Mubarak a little differently.

  1. Technology is a friend

The eid morning tradition of asking each other for forgiveness can be done over Facetime or a Zoom call. Technology has made it easier for loved ones far from each other to remain connected, so make full use of it!

  1. Give out E-Duit Raya

The joyful act of giving and receiving duit raya (money packets), need not stop. Various banking and e-wallet platforms offers this service. The act is also sustainable and reduces waste of money packets too!

  1. Order your kuih raya and Hari Raya dishes online

The world is now quite literally at our fingertips. Just because you can’t balik kampung doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy all the Raya offerings. Lemang, ketupat, rendang and all sorts of kuih raya are available for order and delivery nowadays. Check your local listings and support small entrepreneurs!

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin from all of us at NCT Group of Companies. Keep safe, stay home and have a blessed Eid with your loved ones!
